CACE

In today’s security and defense environments, real-time collaboration to stay informed of changes to critical data is needed now more than ever. When updated intelligence is discovered, it needs to be disseminated to other units and agencies as quickly as possible—preferably in real time. However, to communicate changes in real time between Intelligence and Operations, the user interface platform used by both communities must be standardized as well as dynamic to meet the needs of not only individual analysts but community-specific requirements.

The Cloud Analytics Collaboration Environment (CACE) addresses all these needs and more. Customizable, scalable, and open standards-based, CACE provides analysts with the tools and capabilities needed for rapid communication of actionable intelligence. With an adaptable plug-and-play architecture, private and public chatrooms and forums, and an interactive map display, CACE takes real-time collaboration to the next level.

Built on cutting-edge web-based protocols, CACE enables real-time collaboration between users anywhere in the world. It provides a full operating system capable of handling data persistence, searching, and common product creation tools. Coupled with cloud storage to publish and retrieve products, CACE data can be accessed, managed, and shared from virtually any computer with an Internet connection.

CACE’s fully interactive, real-time map display ensures up-to-date and accurate information based on multiple sources of information and concurrent review. Its standard map tools suite—comprised of options such as zoom, pan, and drawing tools—enhances the collaborative process, allowing analysts to annotate search results loaded directly onto the display. CACE also retains a history of all overlays created, allowing users to continue to utilize and update data from previously used overlays. Temporal, independent, and live views allow users to analyze data based on specific visual needs, and the platform supports the import and export of KMZ/KML for users in need of those assets.

CACE’s full suite of PowerPoint-like tools provides analysts with what they need for cooperative creation of presentations and briefing packages. Distribution of these products is made easier through CACE, providing the slides to anyone with a web browser. Search results can be dragged and dropped directly onto the slide template for auto-population, allowing for easy creation of repeatable products such as SIGACTS or mission briefs. Once completed, slides can be exported to PowerPoint files for distribution outside of CACE.
